How to change Notepad font size in Windows 10

Notepad is a simple text editor that, like all simple text editors, does not allow you to change the typefaces. When using Notepad, there’s no reason to apply colors or other formatting styles to text. It’s frequently used to remove formatting from text copied from a web page or document. Having said that, you can still change the font in Notepad to some extent. Obviously, there are constraints. The modifications you make will be visible. The text itself will be plain, with no formatting at all.

Notepad’s Font
Notepad’s font customization options allow you to choose a different typeface. Change the text size and add styling.

To change the font in Notepad, open it and select Format>Font. Select a font from the Font list’s list of installed fonts. Choose a font style from the Font Style list and size from the Size list. A preview of the font will be available in the Sample section. When you click OK, the same font, style, and size will be applied to all Notepad files.

When you open a TXT file in Notepad or any other file that Notepad can edit, such as HTML or BAT files, or PS1 files, they will all be displayed in the same custom font that you’ve specified.

You can change the font at any time, but the text will always be ‘clean’ regardless of which font or style you use. It will be pasted as plain text if you paste it into a Word document or an email client.

Notepad files that you create after customizing the font and then share with someone will conform to the font settings they use. The file will be displayed in its default font if they are using a different text editor. If they’re using Notepad, it will use the default Notepad font settings on their system.

You can also alter the script used to display text. This font property will be saved if you choose to use the Greek, Baltic, or another script. This is due to the fact that you are entering text in a different typeface. It may not render correctly on systems that do not support the script, but it is uncommon to find one that does. Even if an OS doesn’t support a script, a text editor will usually support the more commonly used ones.

To customize the font on Notepad, open it and go to Format>Font. Select a font from the list of installed fonts under the Font list. Select a style from the Font Style list, and select the size from the Size list. You will be able to see a preview of the font in the Sample section.
